Nicholas Mbugua has 15 years multi-sectoral experience in marketing leadership. He has managed commercial market leaders in soap, sanitary towels, hair products and food in Kenya Uganda and Tanzania. Nicholas has won awards for his campaigns in social marketing for the the Mpango wa Kando and Trust condom brands. He is recognized as an expert on the social marketing of health services, especially related with HIV/AIDS, and has collaborated on the development of the Kenya National Condom Strategy. For 2 years he headed the Communication Subcommittee of The Ministry of Health Technical Working Group on Male Circumcision.
Nicholas has a degree in Information Sciences and post graduate diplomas in both Marketing and Social Marketing practice. He enjoys travelling and is a former national Scrabble champion.
Mary Mbuo is a humanitarian and development technical specialist with 15 years of experience working on HIV/AIDS prevention and management, health education and promotion, maternal and child health, safe motherhood, reproductive health, water, sanitation, hygiene, health, food security, nutrition, livelihoods and disaster response programming in Africa. She has supported the development and implementation of HIV workplace policies as well as mainstreaming HIV and gender activities within programmes in the region. She has been involved in assessments, programme development, technical assistance, policy review, advocacy and monitoring and evaluation in around 20 countries in Africa including Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Sierra Leone. She has provided technical support to development, emergency, and rehabilitation projects and has a strong background in participatory training methodologies.
Emily Karechio is a highly dynamic and multifaceted Project Management Professional, Master Trainer on Leadership and HIV/ AIDS, Mentor and the Founder of Muthaa Community Development Foundation, an organization that partners with both the private and public sector. She has provided leadership in different areas of HIV and drug abuse prevention training including HIV/ AIDS prevention as well as Training and Advocacy in partnership with SUPPORT, the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders. She is also the National Focal Point of Global Youth Coalition on HIV/ AIDS and the National Coordinator of the Universal Access for Female Condom. She is a known advocate for HIV prevention and control in Kenya. She supported NACADA in organizing sports events aimed at raising awareness on drug/alcohol abuse in various parts of the country.
